From Information to Action

Find the Decision
Information becomes useful when it supports a specific decision or action. Start by identifying that moment before designing screens, fields, or automation.
Keep Context Close
The person acting should not need to reconstruct the story from separate documents, inboxes, and spreadsheets. Bring the smallest necessary context into one understandable view.
Automate the Repetition
Automation is most useful around predictable, testable work: calculations, reminders, routing, and records. Judgment stays with the person responsible for the outcome.
This pattern can apply across many kinds of software. The domain may change; the need for clear action does not.
